What do acting, emotional intelligence, and workplace culture have in common? For JessePudles, they’re not just connected - they’re essential. As the CEO and founder of SpotCorp,, Jesse has blended his background in theater and human development to create a corporate training platform that helps organizations foster psychological safety, connection, and creativity through the power of storytelling.

From Virtual Story Circles to Corporate Culture Labs

SpotCorp began during the pandemic as a personal project called Spotlight, a virtual storytelling event designed to help people feel seen, heard, and connected during a time of isolation. Jesse quickly realized the impact these sessions were having. Attendees weren’t just participating - they were staying on after the virtual events to continue talking and connecting - for hours at times! It was clear that this wasn’t just entertainment - it was transformation.

That spark turned into SpotCorp, a company now working with tech firms, BPOs, and senior living organizations to improve culture, address team breakdowns, and bring joy back into the workplace. Whether it’s reigniting staff and patient morale in a retirement community or helping remote tech teams bond beyond Zoom, SpotCorp is rooted in the belief that theater isn't just for the stage - it’s a tool for human development. Their motto is “Taking performance off the pedestal.”

Jesse’s first step as a founder was simple but powerful: listen. He paid attention to what people liked about the events. Over time, he tested an MVP, built a team, and got his first client by showing real results. Now, five years later, SpotCorp runs custom trainings, gathers feedback through surveys, and uses research to help clients grow strong, connected teams.

Tackling Doubt and Owning the CEO Title

In the beginning, Jesse wasn’t sure he could call himself a CEO. He had doubts, especially when it came to selling his services. But he kept practicing, listened to feedback, and leaned on the advice his father gave him:

“Surround yourself with people who are smarter than you, especially in the areas you want to grow.”

Jesse also learned how to manage relationships when working with friends:

“Sometimes I have to say, ‘I’m asking as your friend’ or ‘I’m asking as your boss.’ That helps us stay clear and respectful.”

Like many founders, Jesse faced a lack of clarity, especially around sales and pitching. But he pushed through by repeating what worked, listening to feedback, and surrounding himself with people who complemented his skills. It wasn’t easy to call himself a CEO at first, but over time he embraced the role, and now leads the company with both confidence and clarity.

“Repetition, mentorship, and reflection are what helped me move past self-doubt,” he says. “Confidence sometimes stems from consistency.”

Building for Growth, Grounded in Values

SpotCorp is now growing in two main directions: senior living and BPO/tech. Jesse is actively cultivating partnerships, including collaborations with workplace safety experts, to expand SpotCorp’s reach. He’s also exploring how to monetize consumer-facing events and integrate SpotCorp into corporate retreats.

Despite his busy schedule, Jesse prioritizes balance and mental health for himself and his team. His week includes structured planning meetings, creative downtime, and self-care activities like voice lessons and trampoline classes. He’s also an active member of leadership communities like PSP, Dynamico, and NYC SHRM.

Advice for Aspiring Founders

Jesse’s advice to those waiting for the “perfect time” to start? Start with what you have, but have a plan.

“Passion is essential, but so is financial stability and a support system. Don’t go it alone, and don’t wait for perfection - start with one step, surround yourself with smart people, and iterate as needed.”
